Both the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda CX-90 are engineered to impress you. The base engine for the Mazda CX-5 is a non-turbo four-cylinder, 2.5-liter system that generates 187 horsepower. There is also a turbocharged four-cylinder system that puts out 227 horsepower. For the Mazda CX-90, the lower trim levels have a V6 turbo 3.3-liter engine that produces 280 horsepower. There is also a high-output turbo V6 engine available that delivers 340 horsepower. Notably, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 also offers a plug-in hybrid engine. This is a 323-horsepower unit that has a range of 26 miles on all-electric power.

Appearance

Mazda’s design language is fully displayed in both models through their sleek bodies and wide grilles. The 2024 Mazda CX-5 stands out with premium contouring running across the sides. The black molding that starts on the front bumper extends across the sides and over the rear bumper. The Mazda CX-5 also is individualized by angled LED headlights. The larger Mazda CX-90, on the other hand, is styled with a tapered roof and a raked rear end. Chrome accents the sides, the front fender, and the grille.
