 What’s New for the 2026 MAZDA3 HATCHBACK?

The engaging Mazda3 is a compact car that expresses its prowess with an aerodynamic design while pampering you with modern features. The 2026 Mazda3 continues to be available with your choice of sedan and hatchback body styles. This year, the Mazda3 Hatchback has a pared-down trim lineup while still providing you with plenty of options to choose from. Specifically, the Carbon Turbo trim level is deleted in 2026. Now, the trim options from the base level up are the S, Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, and Premium Plus.

The hatchback body style boasts strong tapering down the raked rear and a swooping nose. The sporty look continues with a sharply rounded nose and road-hugging ground clearance. The smoothness of the sides is enhanced by a subtle crease that angles toward the rear before bending sharply toward the back haunches. A second angled crease runs linearly between the fenders. The low-profile bumper pairs with a hexagonal grille with gently rounded corners. The headlights make a dramatic statement with their bolt of LED accentuation.

The Mazda3 Hatchback has two available powertrains, dubbed the 2.5 S and the 2.5 Turbo. The 2.5 S pairs a six-speed auto transmission with a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is an option. The 2.5 Turbo has the same transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The engine is a 227-horsepower, 2.5-liter turbo, four-cylinder unit. With high-octane gas, it can generate 250 horsepower.

The entry-level Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 S comes with a six-speaker sound system, an 8.8-inch touch display screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cloth seats, a drowsy driver monitor, a lane departure warning, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and a forward collision mitigation system. With higher trim levels and options, the Mazda3 Hatchback also comes with a wireless charging pad, leather upholstery, lane centering, a surround-view camera, a 10.25-inch touch display screen, rear auto braking, paddle shifters on a heated steering wheel, a Bose sound system, a head-up display screen, wireless smartphone app connections, driver’s memory settings, heated front seats, a sunroof, and additional features.
