What’s New for the 2026 MAZDA CX-50 Hybrid?
The athletic Mazda CX-50 is loosely styled after the Mazda CX-5. While these are both compact crossover SUVs, the Mazda CX-50 stands out as a more rugged option. In 2025, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid was introduced as a variation of the popular gas-powered version. Because it is only a year old, Mazda doesn’t introduce updates for the 2026 model year.
The 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid has the sleekness that defines today’s Mazda family traits. However, it takes an individualized spin with a more squared-off look. This includes the minimally curved, tall nose and the sharply angled fenders. The Mazda CX-50 Hybrid sports thick body molding from front to rear for added functionality in rugged driving conditions. The flatly angled hood bends into a strongly raked rear. At the front, the wide grille rounds upward to connect with linear LED elements. These bands of light link to compact LED headlights.
In 2026, the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid will continue to be available in three trim levels: the Hybrid Preferred, the Hybrid Premium, and the Hybrid Premium Plus. Every trim level is comparably engineered with three electric motors paired with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gas engine, which generates 219 combined horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive are included.
The Mazda CX-50 Hybrid Preferred is available with a power-liftgate, heated side mirrors, a wiper de-icer, a power-adjusting driver’s seat, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot alert, remote keyless entry, a 10.25-inch infotainment system display screen, a partial digital instrument panel, wireless smartphone app connections, and a few additional features. The Hybrid Premium builds on these features with a wireless phone charging station, a Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers, an auto-dimming rear mirror, and a panoramic sunroof. With the Hybrid Premium Plus trim level, you’ll also benefit from a head-up display, driver’s memory settings, power adjustments for the front passenger seat, leather upholstery, power-folding side mirrors, and leather upholstery.
